Queen feeling 'better' after week-long cold, says Princess Anne

Queen feeling 'better' after week-long cold, says Princess Anne

Queen Elizabeth's health has been the subject of speculation for days as she battles a bad cold, but new media reports show her majesty has survived much worse.

Queen Elizabeth II was mistaken by a security guard as one of several intruders who gained entry to Buckingham Palace in recent years.

"Bloody hell, your majesty, I almost shot you", he blurted out upon realising his mistake.

Her Majesty, who struggles to sleep, likes to go on a stroll to help relax her but on one occasion, she gave somebody a real fright. Details of the incredible incident have just emerged, although it is understood that it happened a number of years ago in Buckingham Palace. One day after she reportedly became ill, photographers captured footage of a helicopter leaving with a route towards Sandringham, a place where she winters.

In May 2016, 41-year-old David Hennessy climbed over barbed wire and roamed freely in the palace grounds for 10 minutes while Her Majesty, the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Andrew were inside.

"On this eve of national celebrations, my family and I are with you in spirit".

The Palace has declined to comment, until the filing of this report.

She is now in Norfolk, where she is recovering from a heavy cold, so it is unlikely that she will be taking any night time strolls.

The monarch may have remained out of the public eye since she hosted the annual diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace on December 8, but royal watchers have been quick to reveal that behind closed doors she's kept an important engagement. There is now no current indication that she is suffering from a more serious illness.

The monarch invested Ray Wheaton, the Queen's Page of the Chambers, with the insignia of a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order, according to the court circular.

Prince Philip, their daughter Anne, and her third son, Edward, along with other members of the royal family attended both the Christmas and New Year services.
