National Football League announces 2017 London games

National Football League announces 2017 London games

The first-time Ravens will face a London regular, the Jacksonville Jaguars, either in Week 3, which is September 24, or Week 4 (October 1) at Wembley. Since then 22 teams have played at least one regular season game in England or Mexico.

The Saints were a part of the second set of teams to square off in London when they defeated the Chargers in 2008 37-32 in front of a crowd of 83,226.

The kickoff times for all four games - as well as which game is being played on which of the dates - will be revealed alongside the full 2017 schedule release, which traditionally takes place in the lead up to the NFL Draft.

The Browns will host the Minnesota Vikings at London's Twickenham Stadium in Week 7 or 8 as part of the 2017 International Series, the National Football League announced Tuesday morning. London regulars Jacksonville and debutants Cleveland are the two worst sides in the AFC and between them, they have only won two games all season. They are 0-2 in worldwide series play, having fallen 45-7 to the Patriots in 2012, and 17-10 to the Giants earlier this year.

The New Orleans Saints will play next season in London against the Miami Dolphins on either Week 3 or Week 4, the league announced Tuesday.

The NFL has played three games in London each season since 2014 and will expand to four games next year. The games at Twickenham Stadium are scheduled to be played either October 22 or October 29.

This is the first London visit for the Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns. The Jaguars are contractually obligated to play one game in London per year through 2020. The stadium, affectionately known as "The Cabbage Patch", has the capacity to hold more than 82,000 fans. The NFL's research also tells us there are over 13 million fans in the United Kingdom, almost four million of which are labeled as "avid".

When Minnesota played in England, the Vikings built a 17-point lead by the start of the fourth quarter and deterred a comeback attempt by the Steelers in the game's final moments.
