GOP Sen. Collins 'Dismayed' by Trump, Won't Vote for Him

GOP Sen. Collins 'Dismayed' by Trump, Won't Vote for Him

Hillary Clinton has the airwaves all to herself during the Olympics in Brazil, with more than $13.6 million of TV commercials during the games, while Trump hasn't put up a single ad. She wants immediate action to either pass stalled legislation or craft a new bipartisan compromise, according to aides briefed on her plans. She says she won't vote for him in November. So far, Trump has not addressed the Zika response in depth, though he told a Florida television station last week that Gov. Rick Scott, a Republican, "really seems to have it under control in Florida".

"I am proposing an across-the-board income-tax reduction, especially for middle-income Americans", Trump proclaimed, though the highest wage earners would see their rate fall from 39.6 to 33 percent. Federal officials last week warned pregnant women to avoid the Miami neighborhood and a square-mile area around it. Trump, Collins writes, "does not reflect historical Republican values nor the inclusive approach to governing that is critical to healing the divisions in our country". At the same time, Trump is contending with concerns about his ability to serve as president, with a growing list of fellow Republicans deeming him unfit for the Oval Office.

Republican presidential nominee and businessman Donald Trump described an economy driven by deregulation and tax cuts and fueled by productive USA workers in a Monday speech in the nation's automotive center.

Other Republican senators put in hard positions by Trump include John McCain, running for re-election in an increasingly Hispanic Arizona, and Kelly Ayotte, running for re-election in moderate New Hampshire.

The defection from a respected senator added to a chorus of GOP voices insisting they can't back Trump.

"This letter is signed by those who remain in the internationalist wing of the party - many were former advisors to candidates who lost the primary fight to Trump", said Brian Katulis, a fellow at the Center for American Progress and a Clinton campaign adviser.

Podesta concluded with a challenge to Trump: "The only issue now is whether Donald Trump is going to show up to debate at the date, times, places and formats set by the commission past year through a bipartisan process".

"And so everybody who's independent - I don't care whether they're Republican, Democrat, independent - anybody who just looks at his plans has concluded that it's not going to work".

In a conference call with reporters coordinated by the Clinton campaign, Gene Sperling, former director of the National Economic Council and economic adviser to President Obama and Mrs. Clinton's husband, former President Bill Clinton, characterized Mr. Trump's speech as largely "tweaks" to his tax proposals.

Before the night was through, though, he tweeted that "many people" are saying Clinton is linked to the execution of an Iranian scientist.

In an op-ed published at the Los Angeles Times, Sanders contrasts the two leading candidates on everything from tax policy to climate change to healthcare, and says that the "immediate task" of his political revolution is to make sure the real estate mogul doesn't end up in the White House. Overall, it's some smart debate-related shenanigans from the Clinton camp.

Trump and his associates raised questions about the debate schedule last month, arguing that some of the programs will go up against National Football League games. "He is still the same Donald Trump making shirts and ties overseas instead of in the United States".
